This brochure from The Queen's Hotel in Eastbourne is a very good example of the publicity issued by hotels at that time when the English seaside was THE place to go and to be seen. It is undated but an items in it refer to 1900 and 1901 and so I think it was published shortly after that date.

Overall it is very well produced and is obviously aimed at making The Queen's Hotel look like the premier hotelin the resort. It gives a very good description of the hotel and includes illustrations of the exterior and the principal public rooms. The brochure also includes the hotel price list for various types of accommodation available and for the various additional services that were offered. It does give a very good idea of what staying at a top Edwardian seaside hotel would be like.

At the end of the brochure there is a section on the town of Eastbourne and the surrounding areas and also a series of adverts for local companies.

There are 32 pages plus heavyweight paper covers. The front cover is gold block printed Size 170 x 115mm. There is a crease to one half of the front cover and some slight wear to the spine and corners. Overall however it is still in good condition.

Fascinating guide to a lovely English Hotel.
