Parkinson Butterscotch box

This is a box that would have been used for the delivery and display of Parkinson's Royal Doncaster Butter-scotch. On both outside and inside there are very striking labels which give details of the product and of Queen Victoria's visit to their factory in 1851.

According to the label on the end of the box it originally held 2 dozen 7½d packets of butterscotch. It describes it as a controlled price in product group S40, what ever that means. There is nothing to indicate a date for this box but it does describe Queen Victoria as the late Queen and so it must be after 1901.

It is approx 240mm wide 175mm front to back and 90mm high. In pretty good condition, it is a bit grubby but all the labels are intact and there are no holes or tears.

Price £20.00.
Postage & packing for UK £3.50.
