Festival of Britain Crown coin

During the Festival of Britain the Royal Mint issued this commemorative coin. It has George and the Dragon on one face and on the other profile of King George VI. Around the perimeter it reads "1851 By the industry of its people the State flourishes 1951" in Latin. They could be used as legal tender but they were mainly bought as souvenirs.

As well as commemorating the Festival of Britain this coin also commemorated the 400th anniversary of the minting of the first English Silver Crown in 1551

The coin is in uncirculated condition and is still in its original box with the original paper descriptive insert. It is 38mm in diameter and weighs approx 28 grammes. There is some wear to the box but generally it is in pretty good condition.
