Burdalls DDT Flycard

Burdalls DDT Flycard

This is an old fly killer in the design of a thatched cottage. Burdalls produced several of these in different designs, I have also seen monkey, parrot and birdcage designs. They were very popular in the 20's through to the 50's, when there would have been one hanging up in every house. I think this one is from the 30's.

The flykiller is double sided with the same image on both sides. It is named as Burdall's DDT flycard and was made at a time when DDT could still be used. I would imagine that at nearly 90 years old the active DDT has well and truly worn off.

The card is cut to follow the outline of the design and the maximum dimensions are 235mm high and 140mm wide. It is in very good condition, although I doubt if it would still be of any use as a fly killer.
